map sensor issues

map sensor issues
i have a 1992 cherokee with the 4.0 in it it runs as long as i leave the electrical side of the map sensor unplugged but it runs really rough if i plug it up it smooths out for a second then shuts down and will not start back til its unplugged any body know what i need to do to fix the problem
