^lol. Dude, come on, you're not even trying. Post in here when you fabricate something, otherwise ask these non-sense type questions over in chat.

Default Ditch the stock bumper

Anthony, Ditch the stock bumper. Adding a brush guard to a stock bumper is a waste of time and money unless you are looking for a place to hang fog lights. The PO of my 90 Jeep felt that the Jeep could go anywhere and run into anything without concequence. The sheet metal of the stock bumper is very light and flexible. The ends are made of plastic and are purely decorative. The attached photos show what happens when you rely on the stock bumper to protect four bodywork. The two fenders, the header panel, the grill, the parking lights and all of the trim had to be replaced. If you plan on going off road, you need a better than stock bumper.

Fabricate (or buy) a completly new bumper and integrate a brush guard into it. Also attached is my first front bumper and the brush guard I added a year later. I hope this inspires you to fabricate a bumper and brush guard that you will be proud of. Mine is made of two pieces of 2.5" square tubing with 1/8" wall. The brush guard is 1"x 1/4" flar stock with 1/4" round stock for the grill and side supports.

Several companies make nice bumbers with options for brushgaurds. You can either take note of their designs and copy, change,or just buy one. Jcr,ajsoffroad, detours, rustys offroad, just to name a few companies.

Thank you for the compliment. I have been fabricating for a few decades now. (Wood and metal).

Unfortunately, I built this bumper before I found this site and discovered how to properly tie in to the unibody. It uses cut down stock brackets. It seems solid, and I have used it to move a 3000 lb sailboat around by the hitch without problems. I would not want to rely on it for recovery if I was in deep stucksville. I plan to build an updated front bumper to match the rear I just finished. See "New bumper build thread" in fabrication

brush guards are for show, jeeps are not. build it strong enough to take a hit or be prepared to fix or replace it when you tap a tree..

That's why they call it a "brush" guard, as in shrubs and small branches
