I lost my key to my jeep grand cherokee lorado 2002. Have had two locks smiths come out, the first one got the vin code made a key and couldn't get the ignition to turn, so bought a new cyclinder from auto zone that doesn't have a chipped key (plan on returning it). Had a second lock Smith come out and said that he would .make a chipped key but we have to take whole ignition system all out and let them keep it for a week to find the code since it doesn't match our vin. My question is other then towing the jeep to the dealership. What can I do to have a running jeep? Online they say flash computer with key security unplugged. But how do I do that? Do I need a special comp or something to flash my jeeps computer. Help I'm confused and just need my jeep to start....
