Default Looking for CB

I am thinking about picking up my first CB. It won't get a ton of use, so I am just looking for something cheap that will get the job done. Anyone have any suggestions or know of what specs to look for if I try to find something on ebay?

the antennas have a wide range of options. it all depends where you want to mount it. hood, door jam, etc. once decided you can go from there. i mounted mine on my right side of the jeep near the hatch. i had to drill two small holes to mount it but im happy with the way it looks. look up firestick antenna's there pretty popular among the 4x4 community.

I have mine also mounted on the driver side....

As far as what type.. the longer the better and the more of the antenna above the vehicle the better.

I am running a 102" whip that is about 13' in the air, with where I have it mounted.

I was thinking....for groups riding close to each other, would handheld "walky talkies" work? Will these pick up cb stations?

Personal i like this unit. http://www.quadratec.com/products/96080_990.htm Just because its small and would work for what i neeed it to. I do not need epic range just something to hit some distance.

I like that one, but a bit rich for me when I still need an antenna. I really need armor too and should probably prioritize that first.
