Looking at an automatic 1999 2 door Sport XJ with 121k miles on it. Seller asing $3100 but states it is slightly negotiable....price seem fair? Says no rust at all, no issues except AC isn't working, thinks it's a leak and will have it fixed. Anything specific I should look for when going to see the car? Car was from Vermont originally and is here in NY, seller bought it only a couple months ago but claims gas is too much. Sounds odd to me.

It is a 1993 Automatic 2 Door Cherokee Sport with 88k miles. Seller says he purchased it last August with 79k on it from an older gentleman where it was garaged for a while. He replaced the U-bolts, new spark pluggs, new radiator, new gasket cover, new crank sensor, all new front brake system, 2 new tires...and maybe other stuff but he has to check receipts at home. Car has scratch on driver's door and sun damage on hood...waiting to hear back regarding any rust issues. Also states that it has no wobble on highway.

So my question to you all is...which seems like a better buy? Going to check them out this weekend/Monday

I'd go for the 99, Just check the floor pans for rust. When I look at something used I expect to spend about a thousand dollars in repairs over my offering price.

personally I'd say the 99 but the 93 wouldn't be a bad choice. Do you have any preference to body styling?
