I say a 3 link man. I have never built one before and it wasent all that hard. And I love it now. 3 link is the way to go if you can fab yourself

I am quite good at fab but the two long arm kits I built were just a copy off of a few buddys off the shelf kit. Im thinking either radius or 3 link. I like to push it past the point of no return off road and am doing this to make it more trail capable. I like The ease of the radius, but I like the flex you are suggesting the 3 link has. Do you have any pics of the 3 link you built? How much lift did it net you? I have about 6 now and would like about 10. (Going from 33's to 35's)

The good thing about building your own stuff is that you can also modify your own stuff just as easily. Build a radius arm set up now, it's fairly easy. If you don't like it 100%, cut off your top links and build an upper link for a 3-link (or 2 uppers for a 4-link if you like).
I currently have a three link on the XJ and used to have a Y link or radius arm. There is a difference in performance, though not a lot. The three link seems much smoother and steers better when flexing. I am glad I built it. We have some 15mph speed humps that I don't bother to slow down for. The difference is fairly noticeable on these. It just seems more solid and the steering is much smoother feeling
