Default locker?

So I am ordering my gear and locker or lockers feb 15 and I have a few questions I want to ask! First off I have around 700 to spend on lockers so keep this in mind! I am looking at going with either a full on detroit for the rear or aussie for both axles! So what do you guys think I would be better off with! I am running 33s and may move up 35 but that is a big maybe and I wheel on the tight trails of nw washington! one more question how loud are lunch box lockers? I have never owned a rig with any more than a fatory posi unit!

OK, first 700 will get you a Detroit for the rear, or an Aussie for the front and rear depending on what rear axle you have. The lunch box lockers aren't that loud, you can hear them, but all auto lockers except the Power Trax No-Slip make some noise.

Yea, you usually won't hear them if you have the radio on or the windows rolled up.

personally, i wouldn't waste 700 bux on a detroit for anything less than a 44. even then, i went with a lock-rite. actually, i went with a lock-rite for both axles. so i vote lunchbox for both.
wait, do you have a d35? i wouldn't lock that with 33's.

Is it bad to do the gear install the same time as the locker install? I am just waundering if it makes the break in period a little tuffer!

Sorry to hijack, but quick question while on the topic.
It seems you guys recommend aussies, but what if you could only afford to lock either the front or rear? Its a mostly street driven XJ (but not the DD) on 33s and stock D30HP up front and C8.25 29 spline in the rear?

Nope same break in period.

Fill with dino oil, drive around for around 15-20 mins, including a few minutes at 50-55 mph. Park and let cool down. Drive for another 500 miles(normal daily driving). Then change the oil.
