Glad your ok..but dont expect much but a bunch of money tossed around on the other guys end.
Regardless, it sends a message to him...next time he might think twice about pulling such a d-bag move.

Good on ya for the follow through. Hope it works in your favor.

Be aware that recovery is the most difficult part of any court award for damages in small claims, have lots of experience with that over the last 40 yrs.

In court he is going to plea out..lots of cash..

Then with your case in small-c if he can get a good attorney(he wont) it will take a long time for any real movement on the case.. Then you will say f it and take what ever you can get from the loser.. Then there is the time to wait while you see if the guy is going to even pay what he was ordered to pay by the court.

It sucks,,sorry you have to deal with it..but hay,, was it fun spinning around after the impact ...lol jk

I hope it works in your favor and great that they got him. But chasing him around put others at a higher risk, plus the guy could have been crazy and armed or something. What if you had crashed into someone else and seriously hurt them? Then everything would be reversed. Again i may be visioning this wrong, just going off what your describing haha. The way our justice system works, he may just get minor penalties because like Duma said he could have felt threatened. Or so he could say haha.

And idk Roninofako, people nowadays don't really get scared of their consequences. People go in and out of jail all the time for the same exact things that took them their in the first place.

I wasn't chasing him at a high rate of speed, There was minimal traffic on the road and i was following all road laws except an illegal u turn. But this has convinced me to set up a dashcam in my vehicles and record more when im riding my motorcycle if heaven forbid an accident happens on my bike. Thanks for the support guys and look out i might be grumpy for awhile haha.

We're team hooligan! Haha. Dash cam is a good idea. When you said you told the operator you would defend yourself, with you chasing him, they very well could say you were the aggressor in the situation if you injured or killed him in your defense if it hadoesn't often to that point. A dash cam would give you concrete evidence of what went down.

Hopefully this process goes quick. Keep us updated man and goodluck!

I cant remember by exact words but it was somewhat along the lines of if he tries to attack me i have the tools to defend myself. I will be getting the call log from the court house

I could use a dashcam as long as it wasn't mic'd, I'd never be able to post a video here, haha.

Wow that is quite a story. First of all, hit and run without an injury is a misdemeanor usually punishable by citation. Secondly, the police didn't knock dudes door down for no insurance, that's also a citation/impound. Everything else would be settled in civil court. I'm an LEO at a large department. I hope everything works out but that was quite a story...

Yea except you said you "had the police knock down his door and arrest him." That was the part I was referring to that didn't happen... Police can't knock down a door because someone tells them to, especially not for traffic charges. Hit and run and no insurance are citations....

I had the police go and try to get the information i needed and they ended up kicking in his door. Not like i told them to go knock down his door. Poorly worded my bad im not a professional writer.

They would have to have a search warrant to kick his door down... Not likely..
