A little help

Looks like rust at the front of the rocker in the third pic. And over top the rear flare in the second pic. Potential for rust in other places.

Opinions on this one? Have it setup to look at Friday. It's a 1999 with 199k only issues (from what I'm told) are the back windows need new motors. Rockers are said to look good and the only rust is pictured. Can get it for just over 2k

Rockers aren't the only thing that can rust to be worried about. I would saybthe most common on an xj is the floorpans, and yoiu can't really tell if they are rusted without removing the carpet and looking. Some say to poke around with a screwdriver underneath. But some (Most people I would say) wouldn't appreciate that haha. Just food for thought.

Still a little too much rust on that one for my liking. Be sure to look closely at picture #4--rust on top of the rocker in the rear door opening as well. That's a typical spot, on the late models anyway.

Yeah I noticed that too. Any ideas on where to look for one lol I've searched everywhere up to 6 hours away. I'm in a bit of rush to get one before winter. I just had the heat go out in my current car and don't plan to spend any money fixing it

I've been on this forum awhile. I've come to the conclusion based off of many posts that finding a jeep in the rust belt is a once in a lifetime thing haha. Have also seen posts where people did travel a ways away. So it just depends on your comfortability.

I can appreciate the reluctance. Fixed my southern connection post.
I remember a while back a member was traveling from New England to one of the central southern states I believe. Almost sure he had bought an XJ. He let us know when the trip was happening and kept us posted on his location. We had him covered if anything happened. No problems though.

I'm realizing that too. Unless it's a recent transplant it's nearly impossible to find one.
