Idk if its just my xj or if its everybodys but ive heard alot of people say they have to disconnect there battery because tyeir lights dont go off... I found out if u turn ur lights off after u turn ur rig off they willnt go off so u have to turn them off before u turn your rig off.

 

Mine is a 96 and the lights turn off about 30 seconds after the engine is turned off if I turn the lights after the engine is turned off.

 

this is was mine does. I usually turn them off while still running. but if not, just turn the key with the lightswitch off and they should shut off. btw willnt isnt a word :P but it should be!

Have you sat there and saw them not go off at all after turning them off, after you turned keep off. Many models came with delayed lights feature so you can find your way I to your house in the dark

 

Ya i hav an 89 ive sat there for 10 minutes and they donr go off

 

my 87 goes off after 30 sec

 

It's kind of a handy little feature if you are walking to the house in the dark. And it always makes me smile when people tell me I left my lights on. It surprises them when I tell them my 13 year old vehicle has a feature like that.

 

my old jeep id have to wiggle the switch to make it go off
