If you wheel your XJ where their are trees any overhead lights get broken, I know mine do that's why I run old school Hella's. They are much cheaper to replace after I have broken at least a half dozen of them.

For the most part you don't have to worry about light damage with modern light bars. They're pretty tough:

Yeah no man it looks sweet! Just that is what you typically see people do that don't wheel. I woukd love to have one that nice and wheel the crap out of it! Haha!

Light bars look like unibrows to me

Mounting them on the front bumper is much better for visibility, and some a-pillar or side mirror light brackets for quarter-side lighting

The best place I found is inside bumper.

I had a tiny one bolted to the winch fairlead on the aftermarket bumper and it made a lot of sense for visibility.
