Default Lift options

I've been thinking about this for over a year now. Wanting to do a lift on my Jeep. Not too high, but enough to give it more ground clearance and hopefully not sacrifice the already horrid gas mileage I have in Colorado.

Any good ideas on lifts that would do this?

FYI, Lift height isn't what effects gas mileage, it's tire size and gear ratio...

Running a 6in lift on 15inch bicycle tires looks funny though.

A 3" lift is a nice lift.

I'm going to get the 2" lift from rustysoffroad.com. Comes with new front coil springs, add-a-leaf, 4 shocks, and new hardware for $270.

I don't offroad often enough to need anything more than that plus I won't have to get extended brake likes or mess with the drive shaft angle. I'm running 235/75/15 tires and they look a little big on stock height so the 2" lift will be perfect and suit my needs just fine.

A 2" lift on a GC doesn't do much, and 3" you should have to do a tcase drop at most.

Ya I've got a GC, so no leaf springs, just front and rear struts and springs.

I would try a 2" poly spacer lift.

They go right on top of the coils.

Its easy, and fairly cheap. It can also be easily sold if you ever decide they aren't needed.

Thanks Gee, I'll have to look into that. Should I go for a bigger sized tire to accomodate the extra space?

I would wait til you have the lift on. Never know how much lift you'll truly yield.

Then after the lift you can flex out and see just how tall and wide you can go.
