Default Lets see the homebrewed bumpers

Well I just got a new 99 2 door and looking for inspirtation for the bumpers. I built my rear on my 89 and added to my front jcr to hold a winch but wanting to see what alls out there. Not realy seen any threads to show off the custome bumpers yall have built. So lets see what all we have here. Ill start it with my 89s front bumper.

I like that that man whats the with of the metal u used for the main part? I have 4 inch channel I was thinking bout using but thought it might look to thin from the front.

I used heavy gauge steel 2x6 rectangular tubing. The ends are closed and welded up to prevent moisture on the inside of the tubing.

Looks realy good yea I was thinking the 4 inch wasnt big enough I had some laying around tho from another project so I was thiniking bout it since I already had it.

Pretty simple design, but they're the first bumpers I've ever built, so I think they turned out pretty nice.

Those look good I realy like the spare tire carrier. How did u do the pivot point on it ?

1-1/4" solid round stock through a pillow block bearing for adjustment with a steel collar on bottom for rigidity. It's not really that smooth, but it's not difficult to open by any means. Plus, the slight resistance prevents it from swinging too far when opening it. I was doing it on the cheap, but for what it's worth when I make another I'll just spend the $75 and buy a spindle for it.

Here's the only semi-decent pic I have of the hinge. I can probably snap a better one this weekend.
