Alright, so since this morning when i saw Jeep had announced the next car model to adorn the Jeep badge i was flabbergasted when i saw it also will carry the Cherokee name. So, to try and get Jeep to undo the bad, there's a Facebook page to get a stir going on.

I don't want people thinking i drive that when i say i have a Cherokee. And i don't want weird looks when i'm searching for parts for my XJ Cherokee. It will haunt us for YEARS... YEARS... YEARS...

I feel this is worth fighting for, the Jeep Cherokee XJ is too special to be associated with this thing.

To be honest, I dont think any current Jeep deserves to have the Jeep name on it, except the Wrangler.

Even the current wrangler is kind of pushing it... with that minivan motor and stuff.

 

The V6 is not the 4.0 of course, but it does just fine. I think the wranglers still deserve it easily, being one of the last SUV's in production with a solid front axle. From what I hear, it has been a fight to keep that up there year after year.

I sent an email to Jeep several months ago when I heard about this. Facebook is OK I guess, but every one of us should email directly to Jeep and let them know that we don't want them to disgrace the Cherokee name.

I wish they would make a years worth of our cherokees.... Like exactly the same as a 97+.
Those would fly off the shelf, maybe they could make the stock axles 44's
