I hope I'm not posting in the wrong section. Just installed a Dual Head unit. So far it is great. It handles great bass and treble but there's no left speaker. So I thought hey let me just install brand new ones. What do you guys recommend for the front speakers? Thanks.

Upgrading speakers really depends on your budget. If you are not planning on adding an extra amp for the speakers, I would say you can go with Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer, Infinity, even Sony. All of these will sound better than the stock speakers. I would also recommend adding a subwoofer if it's in your budget. They really help with the low end that no 5.5" speaker can reproduce effectively. Best advice is to go to an audio store and see what sounds good to you.

most 6.5s will do pretty good... and yeah, 6.5....
pioneer 6.5 is pretty cheap at walmart... my green one runs those and i can't complain about sound quality. of course they are not competition series, but you'll pretty much feel like you're in a concert if you turn em up. they crap out if i turn my pioneer deck past 55, but that's to be expected... i don't think i've ever needed to go past 40 to listen to music loud...
my blue one came with cheap walmart 5.5 Dual speakers, and honestly, for what i listen to, i don't need anything more than that...

Is there no left speaker at all or no sound coming from your left speaker?
If its the latter then not even a new speaker will fix that issue. You'll have to rewire it. I cut the left speaker wires (+ and -) on the harness and then connected new speaker wire to it and ran it though the boot from the kick panel to the door to the new speaker.

But driving with it open to that spot was just not practical. HA

Man I hate these kind of threads. You're never going to get one right answer, you're only going to hear what others have in their rig and everybody has the best sounding speakers while all of the others suck. You can't go wrong with a brand name speaker that will fit into your budget.
