I have been a Ford guy my entire life and still am. I have a 1970 Early Bronco and a 67 Mustang but have always been drawn to the XJ. So on mothers day of all days I found a 1987 Cherokee XJ. Has a 4.5" Rustys lift, 33" Baja Claws, Edelbrock shocks with the gas resivour (sp) KN, etc.. Light factory blue. Overall in nice condition can tell the previous owner cared for it. Comes with a lot of receipts.

Anyway runs and drives nice for a Jeep on 33's. But I hear a lot of creeks and occasional rattles when driving. Is it to be expected with the modified suspention? I realize it's 24 years old so rattles are going to be a part of it's life. But during bumps in road and turning I hear creek and sweek noises. Anything to worry about? What should I look for in the XJ

Where is a good source for interior parts and parts in general? Like plastic shift console cover, headliner, E-brake plastic cover, seat covers, carpet etc...

Squeaks and rattles are the best part of owning a jeep

Any pics of that Bronco? I'd love to own an oldie someday.

What Jeep got right on performance they got wrong in build quality. That translates into squeaky interior, crap radios, and trim falling off. Plus bad wiring.

But man, it sure is fun to drive...

My 2000 squeaks, that's just fine, welcome to CF man! It's just the suspension telling you it's still there.

welcome to the dark side... we have the cookies... you will love the xj for what it is and what it can do. Honestly if your jeep doesn't make strange noises then I would worry. When I got mine and it was stock it made more noise then anything that I have ever owned prior including my escort and other beaters.

This is where I go for some of my parts. http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/
