I agree, but all XJs are beautiful in my eyes. There's a simple elegance to it we will never see in modern cars ever again

 

Um... You do realize that the 96 cherokees look almost exactly the same as the 95's, 94's,93's,92's, etc... right? Lol I do agree they look good though!

 

Soooo jealous. Great find man! I hope to one day have a 2 door or a Manche. But for 2k it was a steal. I thought my rust free (never left the south) 99 XJ with 165k miles lightly wheeled bone stock for $2500 was an amazing grab.

 

You did get a great deal! Turns out my xj has a few hiccups before she's road worthy but all in all no regrets.

An MJ is my dream build and would be my next project but realistically I won't find one. In the 4 years I spent casually hunting an xj, I saw a handful of commanches, most of them for parts or rusted beyond help.. one can dream however!

 

That's like the very few GOOD XJs I see around here...always owned by a guy who only drives it twice a month to Costco or maybe once a month to take his dog to the groomer.... its all grand cherokees by about 99.99% or totally rekt XJs

 

Hi I am looking at purchasing a 96 grand cherokee- no rwc, no rego $500. I asked what it needed for road worthy, owner said "roof lining as it doesn't have one, immobilizer & CD player other than that car is in good nik". Buy or not & is it a hard fix?

Y'all are going to think I'm" full of it" but I got mine for $500 cash. it didn't run , put a fuel pump in it and it started right up! for an 88' all original I can't believe it runs and drives so well !! but then it got 2 ******* on me and it sounded like I needed a head gasket🥺 so I decided let's park it and do it right. ....1 overhaul later, I have absolutely no power!! it's like I don't even have a battery in it. so soon as I get that figured out will be back on the road!!! # I love my 88'🤠
