New to these forums because my dad recommended this site to me. I just got my first car, a 1987 cherokee and am loving it! I just wanted to hear from whoever's on this site any suggestions as to what I should do with it. Thanks!

I know haha, it was super clean. Of course we did some wiping down when we got it yesterday. Got for $4100. Almost every other Jeep we went to look at was either disgusting or had sold within 5 minutes. It's ridiculously in demand in Arizona.
Super clean Bro!
An '87 would be referred to as a Renix model and has specific engine controls. Your AZ neighbor, Cruiser has ALL the info you need to have it running like new. http://cruiser54.com
nice jeep. Tune up is always the first thing to do. Don't even worry about other mods until it's running in tip top shape.
Yeah that's what we've been doing... I keep being reminded I don't have cupholders so I have to keep my drink in the center console and just hope it doesn't tip over haha

This is the best piece of advice you can get. Learn and execute all of Cruiser's Renix tips.
Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. I don't know where the bar is set for Arizonans...Arizonians?...Arizons?...Arizonites?.. ...
I don't know where they bar is set for you, but that's gorgeous to a Wisconsinite like myself, so please don't take it for granted.
Just as soon as you've made the rounds maintaining/restoring all systems on it, something will go wrong, so the next piece of advice is to fix that.
Third, keep some savings set aside for whatever goes wrong next.
Fourth, using the advice of the interwebs and experts on sites like this, formulate a plan. Maybe that plan will be to keep it stock. Maybe not. Regardless, a well-researched plan will lead to a longer life for the vehicle, higher quality build, and financial savings for you in the long run.
Grats on the Cherokee. Anything in that shape and priced low is selling quick here right now. I'm always a second too late. Did you find this one Offerup? Was looking at one that looked just like it, but couldn't get the guy to respond.
Misread the price, not the one I was looking at. Saw that one tho, very nice find.
