Default Jurassic park jeep rebuild

Hey guys, so today I've gathered pictures and information to start on my rebuild project. If I'm going to be honest, idk what to do. I really want to rebuild and revive my 2 door XJ. She is rusted out though. I want your guys opinion on if this is too far gone or not. I am willing to throw myself at it with lots of tube steel and sheet metal. Let me know what you think!

Definitely one of the most eaten up sides. This uniframe rail is what worries me the most along with my leaf mounts. Most other holes are floor spots

That is a lot of work. Anything is possible with the right skill set, and no worries about $$$. If that was me, I would want a better starting point though.

I would look up the cost of all the floor panels you will need and any other parts you will need then see if you can find a good body for that cost .

I probably could but this was my first jeep and my second car overall, I rather save it then scrap it if I don't have to. To be honest, I was going to use lots of tube steel and fresh sheet metal rather than stamped unibody pieces. Going for functionality and structural reinforcement along with rust repair. Perhaps it's destined to be used for a power swap on a better jeep idk. Just looking for ideas. I hate to see it go, it's a 2 door and my first jeep...

It would almost certainly be easier to start with a better body, because that is pretty far gone, even by my standards.

HOWEVER, as a sentimentalist, I can see you not wanting to get rid of it. It sounds like you have the ability to do some of the fab work yourself, which is very handy.

Two door XJ's are still available, but not necessarily a dime a dozen. If you can find a decent body (perhaps even a 2wd one), it would be much easier to swap parts, but if this is a labor of love, then go nuts.

Lol it's something to wrench on and I already have the thing, I'm probably going to drop the rear dif and just go all out on the rear end. Hopefully it will turn out on the road rather than a scrap yard. I will try my best though!

If you want to keep it that's ok I've had some cars I should have let go because they needed more work then the car was wroth but I fixed then anyway . so if you keep it , it would be a long project but if you do it wright it should be good when you are done .

Holy hell. I'd be moving on with my life.

But that is my opinion. In the end it is up to you
