You'll find many if you search the forum. There are pretty much dozens of threads with your same title (different year XJ perhaps) and suggestions in each of them.

$50 for a gentex auto dimming mirror with compass and temperature indicators. Id say thats on the lower side of being cheap. I was able to wire mine into the factory fuse box and partially conceal the wires into the factory harness. That was fun!

Looks like you need window tinting (if youre into that sort of thing) and that could be somewhat cheap. Probably more on the higher end of stress vs cost but its another interior mod that works as an exterior mod too.

It would be helpful to others to help you if you fill out your user CP with all the info on your XJ.

Recovery gear, a good first aid kit, a Hi-Lift jack, recovery points on the Jeep. Don't know what you have now or not lots of things go inside a 4x4.

Thread revival my transmission makes a horrible squealing sound when I press the clutch and smoke comes out from the front of the transmission. What is this? How bad is it? And how do I fix it? And how immediately does it need to be done?

Fried clutch? And I'd guess it needs to be fixed before you attempt to drive it.

I really wish I could help, especially since I'm right down the street from you, but I'm seriously lacking in the transmission repair knowledge department.
I can give you a hand, or at least look it over for you to see if I can find anything else, if if it helps.
PM me if you need a hand.

A nice mod, particularly if you have young kids, is to add headrests to the rear bench seat- one of the better mods I have done. I also added canvas door pockets to the front doors. They snap on and are pretty handy.
