I know but it was my first vehicle and I was proud of it. It was an 85 S-10 painted camouflage with Eagle alloys. First thing I did was rebuild the motor but it ended up running out of water 2 times in a week. After that I parked it and found my XJ, been in love ever since.

my xj was my first car lol and i cant beliece how lucky i got with everything for her.... i have not put any money into her other than gas.... and i have some stuff that could have cost me a ton!! lol

 

You did get lucky. Mine came with the lift but that was it.

I ask because a lot of peoples 'first' cars are still under their parents names... which imo doesnt count.

my jeep is technially my first rig. its in my ma and my name, hince why i pay 19.87 a mnth n insurance. before this i hadda probe gt, got stolen by a cop up in indiana.

anywhoo, one thing i have noticed is since drivin my jeep, i get alot more waves by lifted rigs, and small cars don't get in the way. also, i can park it ina empty lot and everytime i go back out, there's a xj parked next ta mine.

 

It's nice to get the little cars outta the way. When I drive my gas saver I forget I'm little until a lifted rig comes breathing down my neck.

 

^lol. i feel the same way at times. i get so darn paranoid in my mas' geo metro. i feel like a giant. it's sad when ya have ta clench ur cheeks cuz ya think its gonna drag. i refuse ta let anyone drive my jeep. aint cuz ima dillhole, its fer their safety, i know the brakes and how much i have to stand on em to work, and when to oversteer to get it to steer.

another thing i noticed. it seems like theres a love hate realationship with jeepers. wranglers, cherokees etc. what's the difference? aint they all jeeps? cept the newisher ones, notta big fan of newer rigs. plastic and fiberglass doesn't feel safe to me. i perfer something with some strength behind it if i wreck it, not shatter if i fart near it. sorry, just my own opinion.

 

The wrangler drivers seem to look down on the XJ drivers. Don't know why, they just do.

 

noticed that. kinda like the xj's aren't "popular" with the cool kids. lol, just like highschool. effem i love my xj, my fiance aint to keen on it but she respects the jeep. cuz she knows it's a long walk to anywhere without me.

 

I hear that. But when winter comes around I bet they wish they had an xj

 

I guess i'll chime in. I always try to find a fellow jeeper to park next to. Or wave or nod at going down the road. My wife always hates me for it. She just dosent get it. I always tell her "Honey its a jeep thing you wouldn't understand" and then she laughs. But now that we bought her, her own jeep. She doesn't laugh anymore. She is now a member of the club. And I catch her spotting out jeeps and waiving and parking to fellow jeepers as well. A jeep is like a type of virus / disease once you get one you are in it till the day you die.

Oh and nice jeep bopeep. You gotta love a hottie in a jeep. There is nothing better then seeing a sexy looking jeep but to see a sexy jeep with a sexy.......... sorry im getting sorry that was the jeep virus in me talking.

No but on a serious note you do got a pretty nice xj there. Looks like you got a hell of a deal if that's how it came for only 900 bucks.

 

ok going to mix it up a lil bit.
does any one else think they will try to get there kids to go get a jeep for there 1st car (any kind of jeep)? i dont have kids but i think ima rase them with in the jeep family lol. but defently going to push my kid t get an xj lol. not force him to get one just play around lol theres a diffrence.
