They are most likely ranking 2011-2012 Jeeps, which are Chryslers with IFS 4x4. I'd like to see where the OP found this info and who did/how the ranking were done.

Newer Jeeps like the Patriot and Compass are not Jeeps, they truly are Chrysler. The last DECENT Jeep IMO is the Wrangler, and they are playing with fire. Chrysler/Jeep is about a half step from turning the Wrangler from the last decent REAL Jeep to a Chrysler that looks cool in the summer. I would not disagree with 31st ranking based on what Jeep has been putting out. The XJ was probably their last quality vehicle, even so, they took a Jeep made by AMC and slowly changed it to junk as the years went on.

Playing with fire they are. I parked next to a 2011 4dr Wrangler lifted maybe 4 inches on 35s the other day. Did you see the size of the freaking thing? Its the size of an H3 Hummer. How could you ever buy that for 40k, put another 5k into suspension and wheels and then take it out wheeling? I would cry to put a scratch on it. That has nothing to do with the reliability we are talking about. Im just saying.

also when you think about it, the 4.0 is an awesome engine and the driveline can hold its own... but they aren't just rating by drivetrain. Think about xj's and how crappy the stock front end is. I mean as far as steering parts failing/ wearing out general quicker than other vehicles and whatnot. and they're not the best as far as rust control goes...not saying that ford or chevy is any better in that catagory. But it is true things do break on jeeps. It's just usually not that bad and also the pros of of owning a jeep(and not the new ones) out weigh the cons.
