Default Jeep problems

I need some help, I can't figure out what's wrong with my jeep. I was cruising on the highway and my jeep started to overheat so I pulled over to let it cool down. After about 30 minutes I tried to start it up to drive home and it would not start. I got it towed back to my house and can't figure out what's wrong with it. The motor still turn over but sounds weak and it will start if I hold the throttle wide open but it only runs for a few seconds before it dies again. When it is running it has a very erratic idle and sounds like it is not firing on all 6 cylinders.

So I was messing with some of the sensors and I disconnected my temperature sensor and my jeep starts now but it still has a rough idle and sounds like there is a small backfire every few seconds. I need some ideas on what I can do now.

Not good. Sounds like you may have warped the head.

You need to have it tested.

Or do a compression check on each cylinder. Go from there.

So I don't have the money or the tools to do a compression check until Friday but I did find something interesting. After i started my jeep I unplugged the spark plugs one at a time starting with cylinder 1. When I pulled the wires for the first and second cylinder and it had no affect on how the motor was running. When I pulled the wire from the third cylinder it barely changed. When I pulled the wires from cylinders 4,5, and 6 it changed drastically. So something isn't working right in the first 3 cylinders.
