hello i just purchased a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport auto, straight 6 not too long ago and the engine light has come on! i scanned the vehicle and i got three codes, #1 P0700 and two codes that show up the same P0705. when the engine light comes on i loose fourth gear, and when i clear the code i gain fourth gear. until the car does it's cycle then the light re appears people have told me that it's your neutral safety switch thats the problem, plus not having reverse lights. if someone can help me out that be great!

also while i was replacing the u joints i was spinning the back wheels with the car in neutral, and both wheels were turning, do all these cherokee's come with posi?
