Well with all do respect to you, when you have 2 kids, wife, house payment(and everything that goes with it) and still lifting (not building) a jeep it gets alot harder.

Haha you have to make a couple grand a month to spend it.

I'm 18 and I've been looking for a job since September and I can't find one.

Thank god I still live with my parents or I would be living on the street.

Would consider it if I wasn't in high school with a full-ride scholarship to Georgia Tech.

I'll take college over a maritime academy, sorry.

Mine is completely stock so I personally don't think its anywhere near completion.

However, my friends look at me like I'm stupid when I tell them I want to put $3,000 worth of accessories and things on it because to them, it is complete.

I don't think anyone could call one complete unless it runs but if you just get it to a working state and leave it there, it could be considered complete I guess.
Well said. After I get lights put on top and a new paint job (way down the road), I'm done....with my DD anyway. However owning a XJ is an addiction.... But for all intents and purposes mine is complete.

I thought that I had learned my lesson with street rods... don't get into something that costs more money to build and maintain then what you make.... I failed....

All that and I still need brake line extensions and a few other small things to complete the lift. Why the hell do we all keep doing this stuff???????
I am going to have to get a 2nd job just to pay for everything.
i know the feeling and im probly missing something from another thread but what sorta steering and suspension issues are you having with 2" of lift? and at 2" lift brake lines shouldnt be to stretched but you can just run YJ lines which should set ya back maybe $50

BTW im goin by your profile with the 2" lift...so if im wrong thats why

and this should make ya feel better, i went back to school sept '09 so the jeeps has been parked since june'09 and hasnt moved since cause it had issues with the engine by the time its back on the road [hopefully by the end of the year**fingers crossed**] i should be into it for $1500-$2000 on just the engine....header, 19lbs ford injectors, cam, related mopar performance ****, some headwork

that doesnt even put a dent in my list of mods that have built up since just taking it off the road.....makes me glad im single and dont have kids but keep in there and hell just do as ive done and park the heep and drive a honda...i dont think my jeep is going back to DD status given how cheap my honda is to run

oh i know, it hurt when i totalled that up cause a buddy was wondering what it would cost to do the same to his jeep....ive learned not to put dollar signs that crap up cause its way to much, im still not sure what shape the AW4 is in as it was starting to eat **** before i parked it but if its more than a torque convertor im goin 5spd, than i got my F8.8 stripped and ready for mounts/gears/locker along with SYE for the 242, still tweakin my bush bumper and workin out a rear and sliders, and i plan on upgrading to long arms....and my 32s are on their last legs
