Default Jeep dash mod

How much of a pain would it be to replace my dash with just speedometer and gas gauges to one with tach, oil pressure, gas, speedo, and battery gauges?

Im going to take a guess that you have a 99 Cherokee based on your Username, its not hard at all find a Jeep with full gauges, unplug yours and plug that one in. Everything will work, it really is plug and play. However, your Jeep's odometer will now read whatever miles were on the vehicle it came off of. I hear you can have it flashed to the correct miles but it is expensive.

Hope this helps.

Thanks I really want to do so, so maybe I will just try and find a dash with pretty much equivalent if not more miles and then just put the new dash in when my jeep gets to that amount of miles

You'll also need different sending units for coolant temp and oil pressure, I believe the ones for a dummy cluster are just an on/off switch not an actual sensor.

Cobra is right. I took a 99 full gauges and threw it in a 97 and it was completely plug and play. It's an easy job, few screw holding it in and two electrical connectors in the back.

I'm glad I read this thread. I'm swapping a full cluster for someone in his 98 and I was told I needed different sensors. Good to know it's just plug and play

My tach say it's half full. Is that bad?

Tired. As I read everybody's comments it sounds like rednecks in my head. Bed time.
