A Hillside teenager has been charged with trying to detonate a car bomb outside a bar in downtown Chicago, following months of surveillance in which he boasted to undercover federal agents of ignoring reprimands from a mosque leader against plans for terrorism, the U.S. attorney's office announced.
Adel Daoud, 18, parked a green Jeep Cherokee in front of the bar Friday night, then tried to detonate a device he believed to be a bomb as he walked away into an alley, court documents allege......

They've been skirting the edges of the law doing that since 9/11. They'll basically talk some pissed off Muslim kid into setting a bomb off, provide him with everything, let him go try to blow it up then arrest him under terrorism charges when it fails. Same **** they do with fake drug deals and bait cars.

FBI officials met with him in my town. I believe that is because there is a mosque there. Likely the one he attended. I also believe, someone from there turned him in.

Basically they cannot arrest him unless he commits the act.

And wasn't there another similar thing that happened something about an xj at an airport with explosives? Maybe I'm crazy.

Honestly, it may not be the most moral way of doing what they did BUT I'd rather him get baited into a fake attack then real terrorists talking him into actual doing damage.

You may never try smoking weed, but if I hang out with you, pressure you into it, and hand you a joint and a lighter odds are you will. Sure, you're guilty of acting, but I'm guilty of coercing you into it. I can't definitively say you've acted on your own and were going to do it regardless had I not been there to supply you with everything.
This sort of thing used to be called entrapment but people have stopped giving a damn about since we started giving up civil liberties left and right since 9/11.
