Hey guys I think the 2500 is pretty cool . I have found a few parts on eBay ,like s grill with lights for $160. I'm sure there is an importer that colt get front clips . There are A few out there that send front clips from japan all the time. I would like the diesel with the five speed . The xj s are buit not bought is crap . Did you build it from the ground up no. Theres nothing wrong with buying a rig that some one else has worked on . Most rigs are never finished anyways. Well There is my two cents an I'll be trying to get that grill when I have some extra cash

So you can buy the 2.5 engine and trans from Canada the body from China the transfer-case from New York and the dana 44 from your local Junk Yard sounds pretty American to me.

If you look closely at the 2500, you'll see that the grill will not fit your XJ. The conversion has been done by several XJ guys, and it requires modifying your fenders as well. Your regular headlights would have to go, so here could also be a fair amount of fiberglass work involved. Pretty much the whole front clip. A group of guys on NAXJA have done the conversion - check it out. I think some JeepForum guys have a thing going on as well, but it could be the same guys.

I do agree with you about the "built not bought" garbage. Some people tend to forget common sense. No one here has built a Cherokee singlehandedly. All we have done is modify.

I've learned to look at the labels on everything I buy and reject things that are not made by Americans. Too many Americans are out of work. Buying American made goods and services will feed and clothe Americans! Buying Chinese made goods and services will not - except for some corporate fat cats who don't really give a crap about how many Americans they've put on the unemployment lines. Wise-up you guys! These "Jeeps" and accessories you're getting all excited over are pretty nice, I'll admit, but let's keep our American dollars within America so our families won't have to worry about where their next meal will come from.
