laminate with some 14 - 16 ga welded. longer piece than the hinge area, hammer to fit, weld. couple holes in the patches to weld thru as well as the edges. then weld the hinge to that.

Cut the section out, weld in new, put the hinge back on the door, mark it in place, remove the door, weld the hinge back on the new metal. Not much to it and no reason to go cut out of another Jeep. Just replace it with scrap or buy a small portion of sheet metal from Lowes or the like.

If a shop is telling you you need to replace the pillar or replace it with a section of a pillar they're looking for a reason to over charge you.
