I have been going over the xj since I got it on a trade for my 4 wheeler about a month or so ago. Been replacing things that it needed or "needed"<--tell the wife..lol. So far, replaced the exhaust and steering. Was going to change my caster this weekend and came to find out all the adj. arms are bad. At first, I thought the knocking when hitting bumps going down the road was just the bushings needed replace but guess I was wrong. Every arm had big time play in them at the threads. They arent even adj out very far, maybe 1/4", and have about 1/8 to 1/4 movement....lol. So instead of replacing with another set of short arms, 26*angle, I decided that I "needed" long arms. Sooo, hopefully this weekend they will show up and I can get them on along with the bilsteins that have been sitting here! Cant wait!
I'll put the flame suit on now....lol

I have looked at various other setups and yes they are definitly nice. But for 550 I think I made a good choice rather than spend 4xx for short arms now since I need them now. Could I have had the Clayton 3 link for 950? Sure, but thats another 400 thats not need now especially with my wife breathing down my neck saying "I thought you wasnt going to put money in this one".....lol

If only iron rock got rid of thier "revolutionary" cheesecake caster adjuster and ran a real joint for the upper with a larger than stock sized bolt then they would have a much more solid setup, a safer setup, and not nearly as many critics.
It wouldnt be an issue if they had 2 stock uca bolts, but they think half as strong as stock is plenty strong.

If the caster adjuster fails you might be changing a whole lot more than that! Maybe check it out and see I'd you can throw an adjustable end on it from the start just my .02$ but I personally have no experience with their stuff
I was "lurking" on here and other sites a lot before i joined here and i still havent found one post where someone had actual proof that the caster adjustment on the iro long arms failed. It was always
Iro hater: its gonna break
Iro User: how do you know
Iro hater: it just looks weak
Iro User: but that doesnt prove anything
Iro hater: well i wouldnt use them
Iro User: thats fine just dont talk about stuff you dont know
cant wait to see pics with them on the jeep

fact: one 10mm bolt is weaker than one 9/16" bolt (like most other aftermarket kits with 3 mounting points)
fact: a piece of bent metal is weaker than a quality rod end or cartridge joint.

yes i like iro long arms but im glad to see someone that can back up what they say with pics
I still support them though if they were really as bad as everyone says they wouldnt be making them still. Although that doesn't mean that they cant fail as anything can and will eventually.
Just wondering
Was the main bolt grade 8? and was it kept tight or loctite put on it, not just put on and forgotten about until it failed?
