Bought a 1996 Xj in pretty clean condition. New here reading up on advice and topics but need some help. I'm trying to figure out how the rear hatch interior panel is mounted to the lift gate at the bottom. All my clips or screws are missing and the whole bottom flops around. Please help a newb

 

I used to have the same body style and I think the clips you need can be bought at AutoZone or OReilly fairly cheap. They have a circular head on them and are kind of an off white color if I remember correctly. As far as screws, they are either #6 or #8 trim screws which can be found at either place also. Hope that helps you out but I have not had my '94 for a few years now and my memory is a little foggy.

 

Thank you. Got to looking at mine and noticed all of the bottom clip retainers on the panel are broken, guess it's time for well nuts and bolts lol
