Hi there does anyone know if the jeep Cherokee 1999 2.5l diesel is interface engine or not?

Interference?
As if the timing belt fails there is engine damage? I think so.

Most diesel engines are, that's why the good ones have gear to gear timing, I wouldn't own a diesel that has a timing belt or chain.
