Default Insulation for heat/cold & sound?

Just wondering if anyone has added insulation to their jeep?
I'm going to pull the carpet up, clean, coat the floor, add some insulation then put the carpet back.
While I'm at it I think I'll do the same for the headliner too... probably the doors later.

Reason for the insulation pretty much speaks for itself. I'm going to be camping a lot in some hot and cold climates and wondered if anyone has done this and how much did it really help?

This is a good place to check out. I have used there products on a ford ranger for sound deadening purposes, not heat loss but it really does make a difference. You do not need to cover the entire inside of the jeep, if you eliminate the vibrations the sound will greatly be reduced.

Honestly sound would be the least of my worries while camping, keeping the inside temps reasonable would be the most important.
I was thinking something along the lines of a stick in place insulation like http://www.frostking.com/Lowes/FoamF...Insulation.htm

I used FatMat that I bought on eBay. Cheaper than Dynamat and I noticed a big difference in both sound and how hot it gets in the cab. Cold weather isn't much of a problem here in Phoenix . . .

I had no headliner, no sound deadener for awhile, then added the sound deadener and noticed quite a difference. Of course after I got around to cutting my headliner and re-installing, it made a huge difference. It gets so cool inside the jeep in the summer now with the A/C on it's unbelievable, even on a 110 degree day. I lined the floor, doors, roof and rear hatch with FatMat. Well worth the effort IMO.

I believe the FatMat "RatlleTrap" sound deadener comes with enough to do 100 square foot for $200 Bucks.

Here's there link.>>>>> http://www.fatmat.com/bulk/rattletrap/100.html
