Default Installing New Ignition Switch

I need to get the plastic shroud around the steering column off so I can install a new ignition switch. The heads on the screws require a special tool, and they are difficult to get to. What should I do?

Default Newbie needs help installing new ignition switch

I bought a new ignition switch from Rockauto. There is a very good instructional video there on how to install it. The only problem I'm having is getting the plastic shroud off that covers the steering column. The screw heads are difficult to get to, and they require a special tool. I have a 1995 Cherokee Country, 4.0 litre. What can I do?

You should not need to remove any plastic shield to remove either the ignition switch or key tumbler.
