Inexpensive aftermarket sound - Planet Audio P395UAB
Have had this installed for about 6 weeks now.

Rear Speakers: Rockford Fosgate R1525X2 5.25"
By way of a mini review, this unit has so far exceeded my expectations. For 60 bux, it sounds really good. It is not feature rich, but it allows USB MP3. Even better it allows you to load a bunch of music onto an SD card and use that. Another plus is that it has a bit more power output than most head units, so no need for an amp if you get a set of efficient speakers.
The sound quality is surprisingly good for the money, even from MP3's.
The downside is that it doesn't do random track play from the SD, it just plays the tracks in order. OK for me, like to have private 'album hour'. But using the USB input and an ipod/generic mp3 player you could do that with the external player in control. (Does not interface to control the external player)
But it is a nice upgrade to the 16 year old stock system in my 1999 heap.
No idea on longevity yet though. But if it goes belly up before the engine, I figure that's ok.
2016/02/20 update: So far so good. Only issue is when temps are in 20's, the LED display is not completely functional. Sound quality is good.
