A old carbed v8? Better than a 6 cylinder? And Id imagine the k5 is lifted with bigger tires. And it probably weighs a whole lot more.

My dads k5 blazer 4" lift 35s and stock gears had a 350 in it. Got 6 MPG maybe 7 if he was easy on the throttle.

Even re gearing I don't see it getting any better than 10 MPG but dammit they look good

Not to mention with 30 gallon(or however big) it would cost nearly $150 to fillup and you would be doing this every 300 miles or so.

Sad to see a member that's been here since 2010 go, hope you enjoyed it.

Hate to see you go, but can understand. As a guy who's driven many trucks that have gotten around 5 mpg, I know you do it because you love it, not for the mpg. Good luck with the K5!
