Ok I've asked this question on other threads, but since you guys gave me great advice to start i thought I'd ask you. I absolutely love my Cherokee! I want to use it as my DD along with an off roading vehicle. I've been wheeling a couple times and I couldn't get over some rocks my friends could so I definitely want to lift it at this point. Im thinking the 3.5 inch RE super flex lift with a SYE, upper control arms, and adjustable track bar along with extended break lines. I want to run 31 10.50's. Other people have told me just go with the 4.5 inch RE lift since its s more complete lot but I know the 3.5 puts you more around 4.5 and the 4.5 puts you over 5 and I don't wanna get into gearing and stuff. My other option is the 3.5 inch metal cloak lift, it's more expensive than the RE lift but it if more complete. What would you guys recommend?

XJ looks great, really clean....
Most people will tell you to go high.... don't, my current XJ is an 01, 5.5", 35's, axle swaps, lockers, etc. Once you go big you'll be chasing problems / issues for ever.

On my first XJ, I went 3" with 31" BFG AT's. Get sway bar disconnects for your front axle with what ever lift you're gonna get, that'll get you flexin better. SYE & new drive shaft (either XJ front DS from a Junk yard or a new from Tatton or Tom Woods).

Armor, bumpers, winch, shackles, ****** blocks, lunch box locker (if you want lockers). Do you have the D35 rear axle? I did & picked up an 8.25/29 spline from a buddy's XJ he scrapped & swapped it in. There are a ton of upgrades that are Cheap too (see junk yard upgrades).

Post up some lifts you're looking at and we can let you know our thoughts. there are tons of kits out there. I went with at Tomken lift this time around, pretty complete & haven't seen many guys runnin Tomken so thought what the hell.. I'm very pleased with it so far

The most impressive Rigs (personally) are LCG rigs that go anywhere the big guys go. after a while, guys with huge lifts & tires aren't impressive, but an XJ with 2-3" lift/ 31"-32" tires that goes anywhere....that's impressive.

Get a "build thread" going. Good luck

I honestly don't know much about the Metal Cloak stuff. It looks like a good kit and I haven't heard anything bad about it.

As for Rubicon Express the 4.5" is a pretty complete kit. I don't know why they don't have a 3.5" kit with the same level of completeness. I guess they're trying to keep the price down and make it more enticing to jump up to the 4.5".

The 4.5" is actually just the 3.5" leaf with a longer shackle and taller coils up front. Wouldn't take much to put together a 3.5" with all the parts of 4.5" if you want. Price should be about the same.

PM me if you want and I can work something up for you on Monday with a SYE and anything else you want to add.

One thing about going to a bigger spring with the stock shackle is that it hits the back of the frame because the spring is longer when flattened out. I ended up doing boomerang shackles on mine which made my 4.5" more like 6" at first but after adding a bumper and tire carrier and flexing the springs out a couple times it came back down to level with the front end. It did solve the problem with hitting the chassis though.

I have the 8.25 actually with the np231 t case. I was glad I didn't have the D35 to be honest haha. But yeah I definitely want to go 3 inches since it is my DD. Here are some of the lifts Im looking at I want good ride so if you have any other recommendations I would love your help. Im still going to wait a month or so before I buy so I know I get what I want.

I attached the photos incase the links didn't work. If there are any that ride better and are maybe cheaper Id love to save a little money if it's possible for everything else you have suggested to add.
