I have heard some good and bad about a factory 8.25 LSD. I was wondering if anyone had experiences to share why the LSD would be good or bad to install in my XJ. I purchased a complete LSD carrier for my 2001 XJ's 29-spline, 3.55 geared 8.25. If it's not worth installing, I will look more at a complete axle swap to an 8.8 and just resell my 8.25 with LSD.

Side note worth mentioning. I run a 8.8 with LSD in my TJ and an aussie locked D30 up front and really like how it performs on the street and offroad, so the LSD/aussie combo really works for the terrain I wheel.

So how about it. Any good or bad experiences with LSD for anyone?

 

ive never had any problems with my 8.25 LSD gotten me through a lot of crap in 2WD... if i were you id throw it in and see how you like it for what kind of conditions you wheel in and if you dont like it pick up a 8.8
