Default Idle screw isn't long enough after engine swap

Hey guys. I swapped out my engine since I blew up my last 2.8L. I dropped in another 2.8L but since then my idle screw does not reach the throttle plate. This is a picture of idle screw but it is only barely touching the plate. Any ideas on how to fix that. I am thinking of just putting a bolt through the plate and having the idle screw touch the head of the bolt instead of the plate. Keep in mind this is just a wheeler, never goes down the road.

Is it idling high? I see it's carborated. I've seen cracked intakes on those or a blown intake gasket. What's the issue?

The issue is it won't idle at all because the idle srew isn't even touching the metal plate and the idle screw is out as far as it can go. Thanks for responding!

Use a longer bolt.

Check for vacuum leaks.

That's a dashpot not the idle adjustment screw.
