I'm looking at basically two of the same machines and I want some feed back on them. First up is a miller 211 which can be had for about 1100 and the Hobart handler 210. Which I've seen for 899 but as per hobarts website is 1300
I'll be using it to put on frame stiffeners rock rails build bumpers box the frame and set up the frame on my model t project. Both will work for what I want just wanted to know of anyone has experience.

 

I have the HH210 and had the Ironman 210 they work well I never paid even $899 for the Ironman full case version of the 210 I bought the Ironman from ToolKing for $800 after tax and the HH210 for about $650 after tax the Ironman was b stock it had a ding in the case about the size of a dime and the HH210 was a factory reman

 

I have the millermatic 211. I love it and the fact it goes both voltage, ideal for travel.

Yeah overhead on them they seem similar almost identical except the hh has plastic drive wheels as the miller has metal. I'm going to weld shops after laundry today to price them out

I have an old 225 miller thunderbolt and a 100a fluxcore machine for sheet metal. it's a good setup but I'm looking to get a mig when I find an excuse lol

 

There always excuses never money. This is now a necessity for me as I have accomplished one life goal last year and now it's on to the next to give my grand dad one more ride in a model t car and I have a feeling it's now or never type of thing. I've put off the jeep build and the v8 swap in my station wagon for the model t project. This will soon be on the road again is sat in that spot untouched since about 68

 

It's settled I'll be gettin the 211 it's only 200 more locally

when it comes to welders, it should really only be a choice of red or blue.

 

I know of no one who runs red

 

I have problems with the red. Both personal hobby machines and industrial machines at work. The machines keep breaking and the customer service keep digging their foot in the ground when it's time for them to do warranty work.

 

Every shop I've been to runs blue only people I seen run red are guys welding diffs up

 

I gave up on red after 5 years and went to blue, never looked back.

 

A White welder will run just as good as a Red or Blue in the small 200 amp range...lol...infact other than reliability of cheap parts you can lay just as good of a bead with a Harbor Freight welder in same basic power range ...if you can't you can't weld .
