ideas on tires.
so, now that i have a 4.5 lift, i need some new tires. im gonna go with a 33" (with BW cutouts of course) but after trying to decide which ones... im farther away from a decision than i was when i started
.. im looking for something thats good in the mud, and has good wear life. i like the interco boggers, and hear that the hard compound gives them good wear.. but im just not sure. so what do you guys think? and has anyone used the TRXUS STS's?
if it helps... im more of a week end warrior who doesnt have the money for two sets of tires. i havent found a permanent place to wheel yet, so right now its just through a friends farm.. the terrain is alot of mud, multiple creeks, and then just awkward trails... this is also a daily driver (at six miles to a gallon i cant afford to dive the 'maro) so i need something that will last (im not expecting them to last too long.. but the longer i can get the better)

Boggers are soft and you'd be lucky to get 15k miles driving them on the street. The STS is an all terrain and in mud becomes a drag slick. They are supposed to do well on the street though.

Maxxis BigHorns......Hard to beat at 33".
Swampers dont wear well, TRXUS are'nt near as good as BigHorns, which wear better....I've owned both.
If your looking for the very best tire life, BFG All Terrains cant be beat.

That's an oxymoron lol
If you want something that you can moderately wheel with and get your money's worth at the same time, get an A/T.
If you plan on going through mud pits and don't expect your tires to live past 20,000 miles... Get a M/T.
Personally, I perfer the BFG A/Ts because of their 50/50 mix of street driving and offroad capability not to mention how long they're rated for.

Like Detour says, Bighorns.. i have a set on my XJ, they are 31"s i like 'em. My local tire shop guy sells the hell out of Bighorns and Buckshots and swears up and down, they balance better then most of his street tread tires.

KM2s and the BFG mud terrains are two different tires. Not 100 per cent sure, but I don't think they make the BFG mud terrains anymore. The KM2s have a much softer tread compound.
