Hello,

This is my first post in these forums but I want to get some suggestions on a cold air intake. I so far have install a high flow exhaust system and have on order a 60mm TB from thexjfiles and some 784s Injectors from no rdplz but I am trying to tackle a CAI for my vehicle. From all the forums and logical thoughts on CAI, they are pretty much useless because they draw air from inside the engine bay unless you do a Cowl induction or a snorkel. Those are fine and dandy but on my particular rig, there is no space for such things due to the ABS blocking all the ways for a snorkel or tube to the cowl. My thought was to cut out a hole in the fenders for a vent with a tube directly to air box to redirect outside air into the air box. It sounds good to me but before I begin such a project, I wanted to get some feedback if this is feasible and a good idea or if I am going about this all wrong. Also, if you guys have any suggestion on some vents that would work for this, let me know.

 

If you search around here for snorkel setups lots of guys have found ways to make them happen without removing components. There is one in Fabrication that is not that old.

Also lots of members use their snorkel equipped Cherokee's as their DD.
