Okay so on my jeep I can't decide what to do. Leave the stock flares, flat flares, or cut and fold leaving the lip and painting the lip with black spray on bedliner that I used for my bumpers. Few pictures of my jeep just so ya'll see what I'm working with.
And here is what I was talking about if I did the cut and fold. Don't know who's jeep it is just a picture off of google images that I took a screenshot of.

I like the look of flat flares, but they will make the 31"s look small with all the fenderwell they open up.
What I do not like about cut & fold is, the tires are constantly spraying debris, water, salt etc. along side of jeep and into windows. I benefit from stock flares and mudflaps, the mudflaps keep the rockers clear of salt spray from tires (beach). I widened the stock flares with landscape edging to accommodate the wider stance and prevent tire spray.

I want more articulation but I don't want more lift. I hit my fenders when I'm not bumpstopped and after bumpstop I can't flex as much as I would like. The passenger stock fender is slightly popped off and I can't get it back on because the studs for the flare mount are bent so I can't loosen it to fix the flare....
I hate how the 97+ rear factory fender flares come to a stop in the middle of nowhere when the rear bumper has been changed and the plastic bumper end caps are no longer there to finish off the fender flare around the rear wheel wells. Looks really dumb. 84-96 don't have that flaw.

That's one of the reasons I want to do something. Looks weird to me. I don't know maybe cut and fold the rear and leave the front? I don't know just thinking out loud, throwing around ideas, and hopefully I can finally make a decision.
Cut and fold. It may give more tire spray, but it looks cool. Lol. Also, I heard to many people talk about how the flat fenders get ripped of the jeep too easy. Many people ive talked to had fenders but removed them due to this problem. If I were you, I would ether stick with factory flares or cut and fold. After markets are to weak from what I've seen.
both my front and back are cut and fold. but mine was more out of necessity(couldn't turn). it does get annoying that there is no coverage to block stuff from flying up, but I'd end up ripping the flairs off on the trail. if you want the stock(ish) look check out notch custom flares. here's my cut, and I still rub everywhere
