Default I want fog lights...what do I do?

Hey guys,

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ and I want to add some fog lights, preferably, above the bumper in front of my grill. I want to do this as cheap and simple as possible. Any suggestions?

Buy a set you like, then install them.

Why go cheap? you'll just be replacing them in short order, If you start with something of quality they'll be cheaper in the long run and look better.

Get a set of hella 500ff. They cost about 70 bucks for set. It includes the lights, light shield, relay, easy wire harness and all the hardware you need. They are pretty bright with the 50 watt bulbs but if you want brighter you can just upgrade to the 100 watt bulbs. I have two sets one on my bumper and the other on my fenders. The only complaint I have about them is the switch to turn them on/off is crap so I suggest going to you closest auto store and get a good one.

I saw those when I took a trip to Walmart one time and they seem pretty reasonable for the price. Does it come with a harness, or do I need to get some extra hardware? I've never messed with fog lights like this so dumb it down for me ;-).

I also have the baja lights on the back bumper. They do come with a wiring harness, but its a crap one with only a inline fuse. There is no relay, if you do get those I would suggest buying some wire and a relay and hooking them up the right way. Just to be on the safe side, so you don't have to worry about a fire under the hood.

X2 I pot them on my trooper there just a cheap option I thought I would through out I will probably go with a higher quality setup when I put lights on my xj. Good luck with the fog lights though.
