I want to buy an 88 Cherokee coupe
Hello all: I am new to the forum but not new to Jeeps. I have a 77 Chief that I am very fond of. I am looking at buying an 88 Cherokee coupe. It is in great condition. The question I have is ... the owner says the Jeep has a 4.6 stroker in it that is a rare factory option. Is this true? All my research I have done does not mention this as a factory option. I hope I is true, that would be great! I attached a pic of the Jeep to this post.
cheers to all,

I doubt what he said about the 4.6 is true. The 4.0 was pretty new at that point, maybe what he was thinking of saying. Anyway, I'd buy that, I'm looking for one just like that. 2 door XJs are kinda hard to find especially Renix era ones, at least around NY. Best way to find out if he is telling the truth is get the VIN and email Jeep for a build sheet. That way you know everything it came with from day 1.
