This august I'm traveling to the the top of lake Michigan for a family vacation. I have a 97 xj 5 speed 33s and 6.5 lift with 203,xxx strong, I was thinking about taking it up there to hit some trails and mabey the dunes or mud places NY decision I Ned to make is it it worth the risk of breaking something up there and having to tow it back to about 1hr north if Detroit Michigan about 5 hours to drive as much as I would love to its still Jim king around in my brain haha

 

i have a jeep im not fully confident in myself. if you cant spare the towing bill. and have enough doubt to the point your asking random people that don't know you or your jeep i wouldn't do it. based off doing reading around the forum every jeep is so different it'll be hard for us to help you make that choice. if it were a pole my vote would be no. but if you decide to take it try and get some sick pictures and make sure you post them back here.

 

If you have another car (especially if it is a 4 banger) That would be my choice.

Trailer it if you think you will wheel hard enough to tear it up.

 

Planned on pulling a boat for now it seems more of a no sadly
