Default I need help on front end/brakes

So not to long ago I started hearing a sort of snapping sound when I come to a stop , this doesn't happen every time I press on my brakes but often enough to have made me aware of it. It was making the same sort of sound my rear u joints were making when they were going to break. But I dont really think it is my front u joints. Then today my brakes have started to not work so well. It will slow down but when It gets down to about 15mph its as if my breaks decide theyre done with their job. I dont know if it could just be brake fluid which im going to check tomorrow, but I thought I would ask on here to see if anyone else has any ideas what the problem could be.

your brake pads could be sticking to where they slide on the knuckle, on my 93 the rear brakes didn't work to well and it caused the fronts to work overtime this put a groove in the knuckle that made the pads get stuck and then snap into place when pumped, i had just filed it till smooth so the pads moved easier but if this is your case i would recomend replacing knuckle with new or a junk yard find
