Default I need advice on a build

I'm new to the whole having a jeep and Im loving it so far, I've got a 93 2 door xj its an old utility truck I bougfht for 500 bucks, its a 4 banger and a 5 spd manual I wanna lift it like 3" or 4" but I need to do a lot of work I wanted to know where I could possibly get an inline 6 motor and a new trans.. I wanna keep the car stick but the gears are just so short and I need a 4x4 trans because this in only 2wd right now, and what lift kits are quality pretty much needing any advice out there, like i said im new to all this.

Any junk yard is gonna have your I6, np231 drive train. Your also gonna need the front axle with matching gears to your rear... personally I would clean that one up, sell it for $7-800 & buy another XJ with the drive train you want!

BTW this isn't really a build yet, so it should be moved to advanced tech.

Lots of people will say sell it and get a 4x4 but sometimes the 2wd are great deals. I bough my 95 as a 2wd for $500 and it just needed a clutch. I think overall I saved money by buying a 2wd and it was exactly what I wanted, granted I have the 6cly. Look around for an already built XJ that has a junk body and grab it up as a parts vehicle. What is the point of driving a jeep thats only 2wd and gets 20mpg, might as well have a car at that point.
