Doesn't the speedometer only go to 90 MPH? It's a ****ing Jeep...

Also, nothing can save a 42RE.

Maybe you should do a search on how to get more power out of your platform then, too.

You want speed, you chose the wrong vehicle. Yes you can get more power. I have a stroker in mine, but it's all bottom end. Built for torque not speed.

I have ran that brand of converters for a long time in my race cars that ran from 550-1500 HP carbureted, NOS and now the twin turbo setup. But for a stock 4.0/AW4 never looked for one for this app or why they would make one, but they custom make a lot of different ones, my only question is WHY??

I sincerely hope these speeds are on a track, and not the public roadways. I'm guessing not, however.

Going fast IS fun. I admit. When i was younger and dumber i had the peddle down. Ive done 120 in my 2.5 Altima and it handles great but 1) I've grown up and really no reason to speed since yall only get somewhere 5 mins faster 2) a stock height/stlye jeep isnt the platform to race unless yall on a track.

seriously. I dont know what **** you get yourself into a red lights but if you're really serious, leave this site and look up race jeep. I don't condone illegal street racing even when someone ****s with you at red lights. I still say sell the jeep and build up an old sleeper mustang or barracuda, etc.

"Defending" it self? "Competition"?

Do you even hear yourself speak, or do you just spout out BS?

You're in the wrong forum.

I highly suggest you grow up...and stop the red light "competitions" before some innocent bystander gets hurt or killed.

Oh, I agree fast is fun...but after a few speeding infractions in my younger days, and watching friends get hurt and killed, I learned there's a time and place for that crap, and it isn't on the roads.

EDIT: Also, an XJ is certainly NOT the platform for doing so.

Look OP, its not that we're trying to be jerks here, its just you're probably young and are making bad/unsafe choices with the "street racing" a Jeep. Don't do it. Ill admit, my 4.9L had double what a basic 4.0L had power wise but I wasn't dumb enough to race it except at the mud bog where it was legal. Many here have stated a true fact, you bought a Jeep, not a Ferrari. As for the "Bro Jeeps" (JK Wranglers), if you're trying to race them, don't because yes, the 3.8 and 3.6 can rev high but they're prone to breaking down and blowing up because they were not mean for it. You're 4.0L on the other hand will last over 300k miles where the JK motor will be lucky if it lives that long. Not to mention you have more pulling power in the 4.0 than the JK will ever have. Reliable and tough, yes. high revving and fast, no. Just cruise and enjoy where the road takes you instead of worrying about "street cred" bs. Besides, no one will remember any of that crap for long.
