i might be getting an xj
Well I've got a shot at picking up an xj
My father in law offered to trade me his 86
Its a 2 door, 4 cyl, 4x4, 5 speed
has almost 200,000 on it
The good....
Its an XJ!!!
Its and AMC!!! I'm an amc freak
It has my favorite jeep wheels, no idea what they are called, but they are aluminum and resemble the intake of a jet engine, and the spare matches
The body isn't terrible
The interior is really nice, and the interior is black, I like black interiors :]
Only one major oil leak, valve cover is broken, but they've got a brand new one still in the box waiting to go on it
Its an XJ!!!
The bad....
Its a 5 speed, and although I like shifting, my left knee doesn't, so a trans swap would be in the future
I'm not thrilled with the 4 cyl, but at this point, its better than nothing, and its not like people are beating down my door to make offers
The road noise is ridiculous, it is by far the loudest thing I've ever driven, not the exhaust, just the road noise
It has a couple cracks in the windshield, but my zj has one, lol, its a jeep thing

Its a 2 door, which I really like, but my daughter love having her own door, and especially her own window
Lots more little issues than mine has
It used to be my wifes cherokee. Her car died, and she needed something to drive, she bought it and drove it until she got her tax return and got her jetta, about about two months ago, she sold it to her dad.
I wish we could have afforded at the time to keep it.

Well he came over today to test drive the zj and he said he wanted to trade if I can wait till next Friday, he has to go on the road for work and won't be around till then.
I'm not feeling it though.
It has a wicked dent that it didn't have before, lots of dings it didn't have before, it was smoking a little out the exhaust and the 4 wheel drive is not working.
I really like it and I didn't want my wife to get rid of it, but I know the zj is worth more, so I don't know what to do, its not like anybody else wants it
